Support and shape your plants and shrubs

Give young trees a touch of elegance by supporting them securely. The results will be impressive.

Gardening with style

When your trees and other climbing plants begin to grow, fixing them to a support is essential for structuring and guiding them within a defined space. This way, your plants can grow unperturbed and will only be more attractive.

To attach your plants easily and sustainably, different types of ties and fasteners are available:

Synthetic raffia is a gardening basic and an effective way to attach hardy plants. Natural raffia on the other hand, can be used for decoration as well as a fastener. Natural fibre Sisal string will blend perfectly with your plants and can be used to tie all types of vegetation.

Jute garden twine, in green, can be used to tie branches and also blends in seamlessly with the decor of your plant arrangements. However, if your boughs have a good covering of leaves, use extra strong Juterop twine to tie branches.

When it is very cold, it is essential to use fleece and securing it well will reduce the risks of frost damage. The best solution is to use a Fixing Kit, to close fleece covers at the same time as attaching plants to supports.

Good support will be beneficial for the covers and for your climbers and the result will be better yields. Staking tomato plants is a necessity if you want to see them grow taller and more beautiful. With Tomato clipfasteners you can shape your plants around a support. These clips wind easily around the stems withoutsqueezing them, giving the plants the space they need to carry on growing. With proper support, your plants will not collapse under their own weight or in inclement weather and you will gain in output.

  • Support and shape your plants and shrubs

To secure the branches of fragile plants, it is better to use Biflex, a foam fastener with wire on the inside. This foam tie is perfect for roses, trailing shrubs and other delicate specimens you may want to fix to supports without causing damage.

Green plastic Fix 17 or 40 ties are increasingly used to attach plants to trellis – creating a domed support for trailing climbers and a garden feature. Easy to use, these ties are a useful accessory for the kitchen garden, securing nets above soft fruit bushes and holding branches. FP-Fix plastic covered wire is ideal for managing your gardening space. Strong and flexible it will help youdelimit your paths and shape your climbing plants.

Tubefix ties are especially flexible. Both the most invasive and the most fragile plants can be held in placewithout being strangled. Brown in colour, they blend in to the backdrop of your garden perfectly.

So, by tying back a few branches, clearing your pathways and shaping a few climbers, your garden has been neatened up in no time. Its elegance can now shine through and will redefine itself through the seasons.
